iCreate is a non-profit association whose main objectives are to develop educational activities of a non-formal education, in a face-to-face (or online) format, and to promote active and healthy aging. In this way, educational practices are implemented for cooperation and solidarity, the promotion of mental health, the reduction of loneliness and social isolation and increasing the feeling of belonging to a community. iCreate's target audience is older people, but in a logic of interpersonal relationships with all ages.
The different proposals for active and healthy aging involve workshops, cultural trips, vacations for older people, the club newsletter and community projects. With these non-formal activities, we aim to achieve several objectives, namely i) the creation of handicrafts by a trainer and participants in a workshop where knowledge is shared, in addition to the logic of learner and performer; ii) the creation of an informal environment in which projects are built for the community, interpretations of stories are acquired or shared, technological learning is acquired, or where the association's financial sustainability (merchandising) is supported; iii) the construction of personal goals and purposes centered on the realization of projects, on the creation of bonds of friendship, solidarity and social cooperation.
