I am Chief of the Population Unit at the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) where my work contributes to promoting policy dialogue on various facets of demographic change across the UNECE region, with a particular focus on ageing. Through the inter-governmental Standing Working Group on Ageing, UNECE supports member States in the implementation, monitoring and periodic review and appraisal of implementation of the Madrid International Plan of Action on Ageing and its Regional Implementation Strategy. Activities include the preparation of Policy Briefs, Policy Seminars to promote experience exchange and guidance on mainstreaming ageing. I joined the UNECE Population Unit in 2017 after four years with the WHO Ageing and Life Course Department where I coordinated and developed the WHO Global Network of Age-friendly Cities and Communities and Age-friendly World platform. Prior to joining WHO, I worked with UNECE as a gender and economy expert.
