On October 1, 2021, the United Nations International Day of Older Persons (UNIDOP) was celebrated with the theme, “Digital Equity for All Ages.” The topic aimed to address the rapid growth in digital technologies and the transformational
effects they are having across all sectors of society. To ensure inclusivity and access and realize the goals of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing, the adoption of digital technologies must occur across all age groups, with a focus on the older
persons to ensure that they are not excluded from the opportunities and benefits brought by Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
This World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) TalkX was organized on the occasion
of UNIDOP to spur the dialogue on the use of digital technologies to improve the lives of older people and it:
