Social Connection in Canada: Preliminary Results from the 2021 Canadian Social Connection Survey

Reports

21 July 2021

Overview

This report provides an overview of results from the 2021 Canadian Social Connection Survey (CSCS). The overall purpose of this report was to examine the social health and wellbeing of Canadians in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. We hope that our findings will support post- pandemic recovery efforts by promoting investments in community and social supports. To this end, we identified the following four aims for this report: 1) To provide an overview of how Canadians are connecting with each other during the late pandemic period; 2) To compare social health indicators across key populations in Canada; 3) To describe the impact of social disconnection on Canadians; and 4) To identify patterns of social connection associated with better health and wellness.
